Our Troop

Scouts meet on a weekly basis on a Tuesday night. We have good numbers within the Troop at 1st Bispham and these are supported well by a strong experienced leader team.

Our Scouts range between the ages of 10½ - 14. We are spilt up into different patrols where we work together as teams. We all take part in various activities from archery, climbing. We are the most adventurous of sections within our group. We also take part in our District competitions and have a done very well in a lot of those attended.

Badges & Awards

Within the new scout prgramme there are some changes to the award scheme. There are some newly designed 70 "activity" badges. These are all based around hobbies and cater for all every young person.

As well as the "activity" badges there are also now 7 "challenge" badges. These are as follows: Adventure, Community, Creative, Explorer, Fitness, Global, Outdoor & Outdoor plus.

All scouts have the opportunity to achieve as many "activity" badges as they want (and time will allow). They will then have the change that all cubs get which is to work towards and to achieve the highest award available to the them which is called "The Chief Scouts Gold Award"
